About Me
Carol E. R. Collins is a writer, singer, composer, and language buff, at home both in Baltimore, Maryland, and the San Francisco Bay Area. She earned a Ph.D. in English at the University of California at Berkeley, where she taught English literature and composition. Her poetry has been published in PKA’s Advocate
and The Pegasus Review, and she wrote over 200 children’s book reviews for Children’s Literature. Upon retirement from a financial career, she studied foreign languages and sang domestically and abroad with various choral ensembles. She has performed in concerts of Boublil and Schönberg’s musicals, as well as in the opera Amahl and the Night Visitors. Her current project is the development of Baltimore Crazy Quilt: An Opera-esque Musical, for which she wrote the book, lyrics, and music in 2010.
