Below is a musical piece I composed in response to a cryptic dream vision I had on March 8, 2025. I call it The Tiffany Kings (From a Dream Vision) for Organ. I developed the vision so as to be a picture and sound palette of the three kings, who appear in a Tiffany glass window as they offer gifts to the baby Jesus at Epiphany.

The music includes color chords (inspired by Messiaen and others) to represent (1) the three kings; (2) gold, frankincense, and myrrh; and (3) the star. Appropriate scales and voice parts are assigned to the Persian bass (Melchior), the Arabian baritone (Balthazar), and the Indian tenor (Casper). The Magi follow the star (beyond the frame of the Tiffany glass) and finally (within the frame of the glass) approach the King to lay down their gifts in tribute to Him. Their movement is in counterpoint to the notes that represent their presents.

Although the music is composed for organ, no organist can play it—only the notation software such as Sibelius (a digital tool for creating, playing back music, etc.) can play it. Therefore, the limitation of Sibelius (i.e., allowing one to create music that cannot be played in the real world—on an organ) becomes an asset (i.e., allowing one to hear music that might not otherwise be heard).
